Whenever you hear the words ‘Rum’ and ‘Queensland’ in the same sentence, it would be easy for your mind to look instantly to the famous white polar bear of Bundaberg Rum. However, if you are willing dig a little deeper, than you will find that this particular spirit is more ingrained within the history of Queensland and its pioneering community   

34km south of Brisbane lies the suburb of Beenleigh, which is home to Australia’s oldest registered distillery, the Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery.

Established in 1884, every drop of rum the that embodies the fighting spirit of the many founding men and woman who have helped forged a part in history through many challenging times.

A visit the distillery is a cultural and historic experience as you see first hand delicate process (sourcing, distilling, aging) that has been used for years to produce their world class rum. 

  • Sourcing using only the finest ingredients, Queensland rain water, molasses sourced from Rocky Point Sugar Mill and proprietary yeast
  • Distilling after fermenting for 12 days, the batch is boiled and transferred to ‘Old Copper’ the original copper pot still in use for over 100 years.
  • Agingthe waiting period for at least 5 years in ex brandy and bourbon barrels to allow for interaction between spirit and wood
