Marvel Hits Brisbane

 

Exclusive to the Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art, Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe has just opened its doors, making it the first major Marvel exhibition on our shores, and the biggest of its kind ever in an art museum.

 

Basically, for Brisbane, its huge.

 

The Marvel exhibition features key Marvel characters Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, exploring the interconnected films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

Visitors to the exhibition will get to check out over 500 pieces of art from the private collections and archives of Marvel including famous objects from the films like Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s armor and Captain America’s shield. True Marvel fans will also love the original comic books, which formed the basis for these characters and influenced the films, as well as over 60 original costumes, 150 movie props and a sneak peek at set pieces from still to be released film: Thor: Ragnarok.

 

In addition to the main exhibition, the Gallery’s Australian Cinematheque will be showcasing all of the Marvel Universe films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming.

 

Friday night visitors to the Marvel Exhibition between 28 July – 1 September have the option to purchase an Up Late ticket, a separate event in addition to the to the exhibition which features live music, floor talks and more.
